I started dancing when I was 3 and was lucky enough to turn that into a career. I had the best time performing for a large holiday company and then dancing with 'Forever Jackson', Europe's number 1 Michael Jackson touring tribute act, as well as having many other incredible performance opportunities. I trained in a variety of dance styles and I loved the challenge of learning new choreography.
Alongside training as a Dancer and Dance Teacher, I studied Sports Science & PE Teaching at University, gaining qualified teacher status in 2012. In 2020 I also qualified as a Personal Trainer.
I have taught Dance and PE in schools for around 12 years and also led on staff training and development.
When I became disabled in 2020, I searched for activities to try and couldn't find much that was suitable. I was uninspired by the lack of opportunity & challenge & I faced various barriers to participation, as well as frequent misconceptions from others about what I was capable of. It made me question how many others were facing the same challenges and I became determined to increase opportunities in disability sport, specifically Fitness and Dance.
I feel grateful and blessed to now specialise in inclusive dance and adaptive fitness, having acquired a disability myself in 2020.
My background in aesthetic performance has enhanced my knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, something I now find invaluable when working with clients & when adapting my own fitness training. Personal experience has given me true insight into the challenges and barriers people can face and I now combine this with my professional training and experience to deliver a unique and personalised approach for those I work with.
Having a disability or chronic illness shouldn't stop you from participating, but it can be harder to find something that works for you. I hope to show others that having a disability doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you love.
I am now back to performing, this time as a professional wheelchair dancer & adaptive athlete. I performed at the British Wheelchair Basketball National Finals in 2024 & have performed in multiple theatre shows with Hip Hop Pop. I have been part of an exciting inclusive dance project and performances with Propel Dance. I teach 1-1 dance classes in Essex and love helping my students reach their true potential.
I am still competitive & love having fitness goals to strive for! I started competing in Hyrox in 2025 & qualified for the World Championships last season. I came 1st in London (Dec 25) and am currently ranked 2nd in the World (season 25/26).
I'm really passionate about reducing barriers to participation and I want more people to feel empowered through dance and fitness.
At the moment I am just offering 1-1, private dance classes, however I have previously taught inclusive dance / fitness classes and workshops and hope to get back to these in the future.
