need
- I currently compete in Hyrox in a second hand wheelchair that is too big for me - a custom wheelchair would make my performance more efficient & would be strong enough to withstand the competition weights & travel demands, enabling me to perform better & compete internationally.
- The chair is too wide, causing me to slide out mid-run and my hips to sublux. Training becomes painful, unsafe, and inefficient. Imagine what I could achieve with the right wheelchair!
- In my first competition, I lost a wheel part way through competition!
- In my last race, the castors kept getting jammed & almost stopped me on track.
- Unfortunately I can’t compete in my regular day chair as the chair is likely to break with the weight of the sled push, meaning I wouldn’t be able to get to work, or anywhere else.
- I qualified for World Championships last season but couldn’t afford to go. Training, competitions, flights, accommodation are expensive. It would be amazing to have support with these.
- I work full time for a charity, which I absolutely love, but it means I’m not eligible for the majority of grant funding. Hyrox is an individual sport and doesn’t have a governing body, which also means I can’t get support via these channels either.
